European research team achieves milestone in the laser structuring of organic solar cells

As part of the ALABO project, a research team has been working on the foundations for the next generation of organic solar cell encapsulation technology for the past three years. This month the research project has reached its completion, and it delivers impressive results.

European researcher team is working on a new generation of valuable and more durable organic photovoltaic cells

In January 2015 the EU funded project ALABO has started in collaboration with Fraunhofer IWS and Heliatek GmbH, the leading manufacturer of organic solar foils. Goal of the EU project is the cost-efficient production of large-scale, light-weight and flexible photovoltaic foils which are meant to have a clear improved long-term stability.

Scientists presented ten TOLAE projects in Dresden

At the Fraunhofer-Institut für Werkstoff- und Strahltechnik IWS, ten representatives of EU projects dealing with the subject "Thin, Organic and Large Area Electronics" (TOLAE) met for discussion. During the workshop, held from October 24 to 25, 2017, they presented their interim research results. The European Commission supports these projects as part of the Horizon 2020 program.
